- Team Horizon is seeking a Process Engineer IV (initial 12-month contract) to be part of our client’s team who are a global, research-based biopharmaceutical company that combines the focus and passion of leading-edge biotech with the expertise and capability of an established pharmaceutical leader. This position will focus on improving and optimizing Bulk Drug Substance operations, providing support in areas such as identification of potential process bottlenecks and vulnerabilities, investigations into process abnormalities, and troubleshooting.

What you will be doing:
Responsible for providing technical support for commercial manufacturing processes across site, including engineering support for existing equipment and manufacturing processes.
Reviewing process data, identify and report outliers.
Identify opportunities to improve process reliability, repeatability, compliance and consistency.
Monitor process data and review methods, facilities and equipment design to ensure operational and process consistency.
Assists in the design review of equipment and facilities.
Assist in the assessment of manufacturing requirements and capabilities prior to the transfer of new processes into the manufacturing facilities.
Management and co-ordination of process optimization projects.
Support all project process deliverables, liaising with other discipline leads on process issues.
Accountable for ensuring activities are scheduled, tracked and reported appropriately, and achieving project deadlines.
Review of design / specification of equipment and systems to ensure they meet current regulations and fit the existing BDS facility.
Planning and execution of all process testing in adherence to site safety procedures.
Operate in a manner consistent with the site incident and injury free philosophy.
What you need to apply:
8-10 years in a process engineering/optimization role.
Detailed knowledge of Bulk Drug Substance unit operations from a design and operation perspective – Bioreactors, UFDF Skids, Chromatography Operations.
Relevant Drug Substance experience as subject matter expert / engineer.
Experience in using Delta V automation platform essential.
Experience in issue description, root cause identification, technical/quality impact assessment & corrective action justification.
Excellent technical abilities with a solid base in engineering.
Must be goal-oriented and able to prioritize and manage tasks.
Degree in Chemical/Process/Mechanical Engineering or greater preferred.
