Team Horizon currently has an exciting opening for a Supply Chain Planner (12-month contract) for our client who are a leading biopharmaceutical company based in Dublin. The successful candidate will be working with the Supply Chain Managers, assessing priority and capacity requirements of the work for a busy inbound, warehouse, dispensing and shipping team within the Warehouse Supply Chain function. The role will be supporting the company’s Dublin office and can be carried out can be on-site or hybrid.

What you will be doing:
Prioritize, plan, schedule and follow up on requests for work flow interrupters to assess priority and capacity requirements of the work for a busy inbound, warehouse, dispensing and shipping teams within the Warehouse Supply Chain function. You will be proactive and optimize workforce productivity and maximise labour capacity availability by managing work 2-4 weeks in advance.
You will be the principle contact and liaison between the warehouse department and operation planning. You will ensure the area, department or facility in which you are assigned, receives professional warehouse service in a timely manner to ensure schedule adherence for warehouse deliveries, production order drops, dispensing activities and commercial outbound shipments.
Review all planned plant support requests and determine validity and accuracy of information and engage the appropriate resources to set a preliminary priority. Review unplanned requests for accuracy and clarity: clear scope of work, realistic completion date, proper lead times, correct equipment identification, proper authorization, and discuss details with originator of the work request.
Identify non-routine work requests and review them with the requestor.
Escalate issues to the Warehouse Manager for work which does not appear to be valid or costly.
Review the work to be performed and determine the best way to accomplish the work. You will consult with Leads, Supervisors, Originator and Production Supervisors.
Provide job estimates based on skills required, sequence required, and number required. Verify labour capacity and materials available prior to scheduling. Manage the status of work control and backlog load, through to completion.
Develop a preliminary workforce schedule by crew ensuring all skills requirement and resource availability is met. Actively participate in schedule meeting with operation partners to finalise priority of plant supports, optimise labour capacity, and necessary standard block times.
Work with Warehouse Managers, Supervisors and Senior Associate Technicians to determine resource availability and work to level the work force.
Finalise the warehouse resource schedule based on agreed plan with Planning, Procurement and Manufacturing. Liaise with Management to ensure all completed worksa re tracked and MDI captures improvement comments in a timely fashion.
Continuously improve the standard block time, planning, and scheduling by receiving feedback from Warehouse Supervisors, Warehouse Leads and Production Planners.
Keep accurate metrics on the performance of planning and scheduling functions and provide timely reports to the Senior Warehouse Manager.
What you need to apply:
5 years’ experience in a similar position is essential
Experience in an Aseptic Manufacturing Plant, Inspection & Packaging environment is preferable
Experience with regulated environments (i.e. cGMP, OSHA, EPA) required
Experience in a Pharmaceutical or Biologics Manufacturer with a lean-manufacturing environment is preferable
Demonstrated experience of problem-solving and process improvement activities
Proven project management skills with demonstrated ability to execute and manage complex projects and programs
Experience implementing Continuous Improvement methodologies and programs such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, and /or Lean Manufacturing
Experience in developing metrics & KPI’s that measure key business processes
Strong computer skills and advanced expertise in MS packages including Excel, Visio, Project and Minitab
Knowledge of Scheduling Software tools such as VirtECS is desirable but not necessary.
Ability to partner with stakeholders on priorities and achievements
Ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-moving environment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision
