Senior Accountant – Team Horizon

 

Are you a result driven qualified accountant who is passionate about leading a team and ensuring the success of an innovative company? If so, then we may have the job for you. Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to lead their accounting team in Westport, Co. Mayo. You will have the opportunity of expanding your skills and knowledge on all relevant financial matters - including strategy development and process improvement. Join our established group where you will plan, control administer, interpret, report financial affairs ensuring continued business growth while guiding others where needed most.

What you will bedoing:



  • Acting as the primary finance point of contact for a manufacturing business unit.


  • Delivering support and guidance on all issues within the business unit.


  • Reporting on month-end close activities, including the production process, absorption analysis, overhead spend, headcount, variance analysis etc.


  • Planning and analysis – on a regular basis


  • Monitor, reviewing and reporting all key financial metrics and operations performance


  • Managing the team while influencing and guiding cross-functional departments.  


  • Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.


  • Leading on process improvement initiatives tied to business objectives


  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, accounting and reporting procedures, including the support of external and internal audits.


  • Conducting variance analysis on monthly management accounts to ensure accuracy and logic, identifying any deviations and enabling corrective action to be taken if necessary


  • Collaborating and maintaining stakeholder relationships with cross-functional departments.


What you need to apply:



  • Accounting qualification


  • Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting is vital.


  • People Management or previous supervisor experience is critical.


  • Prior experience within a multinational or a global manufacturing environment.


  • Working knowledge of SAP and Blackline is ideal.


  • Involvement working with internal and external auditors.


  • Skilled in forecasting, planning and cost accounting.


  • Results-driven attitude, determined to meet all targets and metric standards
