EHS Engineer IV
Team Horizon is seeking a EHS Engineer IV for our client who are a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry, for their Mayo site. Reporting to the Assoc. Director, Environmental Health and Safety, you will manage the day to day safety programs onsite and ensuring that the specific Site and EHS&E Projects are delivered in accordance with Site EHS Systems, Standards and all of the relevant Legislative and Corporate requirements.

What you will be doing:
- Create a strong “Zero Believe It, Achieve It. I Will” incident and injury-free safety culture.
- Engage and empower managers and employees to highlight and implement continuous safety improvements.
- Ensuring effective risk identification and mitigation, compliance with EHS requirements, and achievement of EHS KPIs.
- Working as part of a cross-functional team in the assigned Business Unit, provide support to the management team and employees to achieve safety and environmental goals & objectives in line with the overall campus goals and objectives.
- Implement a range of EHS programs in conjunction with the EHS Team – e.g. EHS Auditing; Risk Assessment; Permit to Work; EHS Promotional Activities; Accident/Incident Investigation; EHS Training.
- Lead a number of EHS programs campus-wide – e.g. Ergonomics, Behavioral Safety, Chemical Safety.
- This role offers autonomy and ownership for assigned projects/areas/programs, whilst having the support of an experienced EHS Team.
- Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply
- 3rd level degree in Engineering, Science, Health & Safety, Environmental Science or similar (if primary degree is in Engineering/Science, then additional EHS focused qualification is preferred).
- Minimum 5 years EHS experience in pharmaceutical / medical device industry.
- Proven track record of leading projects and/or people.
- Self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, communication, organisation and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining close attention to detail.
