- Team Horizon is seeking a Supply Chain Planner for our client who are a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry. This role is based in North Dublin and as Planner, you will be responsible for utilizing the company planning process and applying best practice planning models to manage the product specific forecasting, planning, and scheduling of manufacturing production/ postproduction to meet S&OP demand (for both commercial and non-commercial requirements). The Planner is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of job duties in a team environment. This position reports to the planning manager.

What you will be doing:
The role is responsible for implementing strategies to ensure timely and continuous supply of quality materials and components and ensure successful manufacturing production in accordance with the annual operating plan.
The role supports product introductions and technical operations activity at the site.
The Planner adheres to all applicable laws and regulations as well as internal company policies and procedures in the performance of the job role and applies skills and knowledge to recognize and resolve issues that impact efficiency, throughput, quality, and/or the fulfilment of the assigned performance targets.
Review demand forecast against the material requirements plan and production plans and develops strategies to resolve identified gaps and variances.
Manage the scheduling assigned production of finished and semi-finished goods in order to achieve site operating plan and production objectives.
Manage the procurement schedules and inventories of product specific materials and components to ensure all materials and components required to meet site supply schedules and current production demands are available. This will be done through the MRP run in SAP and SAP must be updated at all times.
Manage the delivery of components and raw materials to optimize internal (e.g. special) and external (e.g. delivery method) factors.
Representing the planning department at cross-functional meetings, achieving cross-functional alignment.
Work in close collaboration with production and post-production to help resolve escalated issues that impact planned production and post-production goals.
Establish the expectation and standards, and the supportive environment, to ensure that project teams and support personnel have the capability to meet performance expectations. This includes building capability by providing ongoing coaching and mentoring and providing timely recognition as well as performance feedback and counseling.
Maintain accountability for all planning team performance metrics that support the annual operating plan, purchasing and production objectives, including production plan v. actual, special analysis, lead time reduction, inventory and obsolescence analysis and Perfect Index.
Ensure all planning data reports are current and accurate and are reported and distributed according to defined procedures.
Manage schedules, such as identifying short shelf materials and ensuring they are consumed before expiring.
Provide weekly reports on supply chain metrics.
Issue reports to senior management regarding KPI’s.
Support and adhere to established processes and productivity targets.
Observe established escalation process for issues impacting established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and/or fulfillment of goals.
Recognize and report to immediate supervisor any issues or deviations from accepted standards.
Provide status updates on own activities and productivity challenges according to defined procedures.
Seek process innovation and continuous process improvement.
Complete and conform to all training requirements for job role, including company-required and job role-specific training.
Carry out and assist in the ongoing training of new and existing personnel, as appropriate.
Observe all safety and compliance procedures and actively highlight any safety concerns to help drive the reduction of accidents or near misses.

What you need to apply:
Third level qualification in science, business, supply chain, relevant technical discipline is preferred or APICS CPIM Qualification is preferred.
3 years of related experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing/buying and distribution environment.
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing planning concepts and practices and applying them to create forecast models for complex manufacturing production.
Experience in managing by metrics Current understanding and application/interpretation of GMP, CFR Title 21, and other regulatory guidances in a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of manufacturing practices such as OPEX.
