- Team horizon is seeking an engineering manager for our client who are a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry for their site in Dublin. In this role, you will provide a capital project engineering management service to the site in order to maximise the availability of manufacturing, utilities and facilities equipment. You will lead the site engineering capital investment program. You will manage the site project engineering group to ensure capital projects are delivered, safely, on time and within budget. The engineering manager will also manage engineering projects when and where required. To ensure continual compliance with the policies relating to personnel, quality, engineering, safety, and finance.

What you will be doing:
Lead direct and manage engineering capital program budget, ensuring alignment to global engineering, ehs and finance strategy.
Drive and lead the engineering capital projects department to meet department business strategies, accountable for cost center expenses, project budget and delivery of projects to support required plant/facility projects and programs.
Responsible for the compliance with applicable policies and procedures, ensure quality and effectiveness of key results for major projects within function through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fall-back strategies.
Lead, manage and support the site project engineering group and be responsible and accountable for delivery of small to large scale projects to the site.
Manage the delivery and performance of site capital projects engineering team, ensuring professional service is provided to the site.
Accountable for meeting key project deliverables of safety, financial/budget management, schedule management and scope management.
Develop and manage staff through hiring, managing performance, including developing talent and providing clear expectations.
Ensure that the capital budget is tracked and communicated regularly.
Provide a long-range plan (lrp) for capital investment at the site, both from a reliability and strategic perspective.
Ensure that the capital being invested is appropriate and that the best use of that capital is aligned to the business priorities.
Liaise and collaborate with peers from global engineering/global ehs/global procurement to define action plans, timelines and budgets for project goals and plan manage and assign engineering resources required for execution of project deliverables.
Analyze business forces (customer, suppliers, competitors, technologies, government regulations) in major market to identify trends and recommend responses.
Independently execute and/or direct others in the execution of design of products/ processes/equipment/system/facilities by applying novel engineering concepts and techniques within the discipline.
To ensure records and documentation are maintained on relevant projects for an audit ready response at any time.
To ensure projects are compliant with good engineering practices, company policies, regulations and codes.
Work with the end user to understand and clarify end user requirements, develop scope, cost and budget estimates and present for approval.
To liaise with internal/external engineering personnel to provide the most cost-effective and best service to the site.
Lead the development analysis and revisions to site master plan, aligned to site/coe vision.
Liaise with professional engineering consultants and organizations for front-end project planning and design processes.
Prepare request for proposal (rfps); coordinate the tendering process for assigned projects; oversee and participate in the assembly and preparation of tender documents.
To lead and drive management of change requirements to the client’s standards.
Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:
Bachelors degree: degree in chemical/mechanical/automation/process engineering and relevant experience the pharmaceutical industry.
3-7 years of project management experience across the project life cycle within a pharmaceutical environment.
Demonstrable capacity to effectively manage and execute projects from initiation to completion.
Full project lifecycle experience from end-to-end design through to c&q and handover.
Understands the project management process, programming, scope development, design development, implementation, and project closeout.
Demonstrable experience of managing a diverse team of engineering professionals/contractors/consultants etc. to deliver projects safely, on time and within budget.
Solid background of planning and managing engineering projects with a demonstrated record of on time performance.
Requires total commitment to safety and quality while maintaining a high standard of work at all times.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written are required for the execution of this role. · results driven striving to meet all targets and metric standards as set by department/site and division leaders.
