- Team Horizon is seeking a Director of Supply Chain (12-month contract) for our client in the West of Ireland. Plans, organises, coordinates, and directs all activities in the areas of Procurement, Production Planning, Customer Services, Engineering Change Control, Inventory Management and Warehousing to meet Customer requirements on delivery and service within cost standards and budget targets in line with Corporate and local business objectives.
What you will be doing:
Supervisory Responsibility:
This is a list of Core Duties and must not be taken as a definitive list. You may be asked from time to
time to undertake other duties, either in or out of your area of responsibility as a Business Unit
Leader.
People 30%
Manager and motivate the Supply Chain team through effective communication and
management.
Conduct performance review meetings according to company policy.
Maintaining capacity in line with business needs including the recruitment and management of
staff.
Coach and develop Managers and Supervisors to support the Company’s succession planning
and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
Strategic 40%.
Provide leadership to the operations supply chain and develop supply chain strategies in support
of the budget, revenue and savings targets.
Drive the implementation of policies and procedures reflecting industry best practices.
Continually review and challenge the Operations Supply Chain design so that the site proactively
embraces Supply Chain practices and structures which deliver a competitive advantage.
Achieve the budgeted Material Cost savings targets while maintaining quality of supply.
Drive the implementation of key projects as agreed with the site leadership team and the Global
Operations organisation.
Management 25%
Achieve agreed customer performance levels for product supply and inventory levels.
Meet agreed financial performance targets for PPV, Variable Overhead spending, Inventory and
Capital Expenditure.
Implement a culture of Quality and EHS compliance across the department by focusing on Right
first time, Deviation management via Root Cause analysis and prevention and Safety
interventions/Safe Start Cards.
Co-ordinate customer site visits.
Any other duties as assigned.

What you need to apply:
Job Qualifications:
The requirements described in this section are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Proven track record in direct people management.
Extensive experience in all aspects of Supply Chain and Procurement.
Excellent Negotiation skills / Proven ability to lead and deliver on Cost saving projects.
Clear understanding of working within a regulated environment.
Excellent conflict handling skills.
Experience in the completion of Contracts/Supply agreements Behaviours/Value.
Relationship Building: establishing excellent working relationships with direct reports through a hands-on approach and giving clear and concise instruction.
Communication: excellent communication and presentations skills, both written and oral ability to present production data in clear and concise manner to team members, managers and SLT.
Planning & Organising: excellent analytical skills. Ability to plan and schedule.
Decision Making: identify and understand issues, problems and opportunities whilst providing a viable solution.
Adaptability: able to work in a fast, dynamic, environment whilst being able to adjust readily to meet unexpected constraints.
Passion for results: Drive, high energy, maturity, and ability to work under pressure and deliver results; get things done (an action-oriented approach); overcome obstacles.
