Team Horizon is seeking a Regional Tax Manager - EMEA (initial 12-month contract) for our client who are a global biopharmaceutical client leader, to join their diverse team based onsite in Dublin.
As a Regional Tax Manager (‘TM’), you will be responsible for managing all designated tax filings and compliance matters for various European based entities (primarily in Ireland), together with ensuring appropriate accounting of taxes.
Customs and payroll taxes are primarily managed by specific teams. Reporting to the Regional Tax Director, your position is responsible for the accuracy and timing of each tax filing and payment, in compliance with appropriate regulations.

What you will be doing:
Support the tax compliance process (both insourced and outsourced) for relevant subsidiaries - review tax filings, coordinating with shared service accounting (FSS), business process outsourcer (BPO) & local finance teams.
Develop and support tax initiatives/enhancements including processes and systems.
Effectively track and manage key enterprise tax risks, including the risk of noncompliance.
Ensuring timely payments of tax liabilities and submission of refund claims.
Analysis of tax technical issues that impact the relevant entities.
Maintain appropriate supporting documents for tax returns, in accordance with local tax rules and ensure that a full audit trail is available in the event of an audit.
Proactively monitor tax legislation/policy impacting relevant subsidiaries, including any potential required changes to processes and the SAP system.
Develop and maintain relationships with local tax authorities and advisors.
Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:
Master’s in accounting/Finance and/or professional accounting qualification.
Tax qualification with the Irish Tax Institute.
Comprehensive knowledge of challenges associated with large multinationals, manufacturing and/or biopharmaceutical entities (e.g., transfer pricing).
Minimum 5 years’ post qualification experience in tax matters.
Ability to provide local country tax support regarding the execution of business transactions.
Fluent in written and spoken English is essential. Any other language is an asset.
Strong analytical skills, with a hands-on attitude to problem solving and the ability to work independently and exercise initiative.
Capable of taking ownership of tax projects, leveraging key stakeholders as needed (e.g., outside consultants, attorneys, and auditors).
Ability to work in a virtual multi-cultural team and to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of co-workers and other individuals.
Willingness to travel, if required, to support relevant entities under his/her responsibility, together with flexibility to participate in calls with colleagues in other time zones.
