- Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer
Team Horizon is seeking a Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer for a leading engineering company with a pharmaceutical project in West Dublin.Lead I&C Engineer will lead a team of Engineers and Designers to execute the detailed design phase for a very large Biopharma Drug Substance project.

What you will be doing:
The Capital Cost is approximately 1.5 billion and the process IO count is above 20,000 I/O.
The project is currently in BOD phase and will roll straight into detailed design in August / September (Major process equipment packages have already been ordered).
The successful candidate can join the project at any stage between now and the next 3 months to lead the team as described for the next 14 months for detailed design.
The project will then transition to construction / commissioning phase in Dublin which is estimated to be another two years.
The role will be based out of the Dublin Office(south Dublin) with flexible working from home options.
The role requires a Discipline and Team lead engineer with the following general responsibilities.
To lead and work as part of a team and supervising and delegating to other engineers.
Attend meetings and interface regularly with clients, project managers and discipline leads to develop the scope of the project.
Ensure I&C scope is delivered as per the project schedule and executed within the available budget.
Responsible for the development of the design and construction deliverables for the I&C discipline.
The successful candidate must have strong leadership and planning qualities, be adaptable to change and be comfortable leading cross functional teams delivering to deadlines.
Scope development and approval.
URS / Specification / SOW generation.
Equipment specification.
To ensure that all new equipment is bought in accordance with appropriate site procedures & regulations.
The ability to organise, plan and execute multiple tasks to tight schedules.
Delivering projects on time and on budget.
Experience with equipment procurement.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities is required.
Ability to document own work clearly and precisely.
Monitor activity progress for the discipline scope in line with the project objectives, deliverables and timelines and report potential delays including mitigation recommendations.
Provide reports on a regular basis for effective communication.
And any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:
Post Qualification recent relevant experience in an engineering/projects role in the Pharma/Biotech/Chemical industry.
10 years’ or more experience with proven track record of delivering the I&C scope on similar type projects.
Good computer-based skills, including Windows knowledge.
Experience in instrumentation specification, Indexes/IO lists, filed network design, panel design, construction packs, FATs etc B.Eng in Electrical/Electronics, Control, Physics, Computer Science /Mechatronics or appropriate science/engineering discipline.
Experience with various technologies.
Proven track record of project based activities in the pharmaceutical industry.
