2685 - Tooling Engineer
Team Horizon is seeking a Tooling Engineer for our client’s Medical Device site in Sligo.
What you will be doing:
To advise the site on all tooling related matters.
To ensure the High performance of all moulds on a day to day basis and maintain same in a fit for purpose state.
To manage the execution of new project introductions within the site and ensure they meet agreed project deadlines.
To carry out and implement equipment and process improvement initiatives.
To engage with our TPM,s in tooling related matters as required.
To partner with quality to ensure product attributes and performance achieve all specifications.
To liaise with Production to ensure mould performance is maximised.
To maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures and preventative/ demand maintenance.
To liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenance providers to maintain mould condition and machine condition in the machining centre
PreparingTechnical design reviews and project planning for new mould tools.
Integration of new Injection Mould tooling and equipment into the manufacturing processes
Completion of VCR’s to track replacement cores and cavities
Identifying poor performing moulds or expensive moulds to repair and preparing action plans to rectify same.
Attending Design reviews and tool strip down at vendor’s premises.
Leading projects against agreed project milestones.
Partnering with Marketing and Business Development, Customers, Suppliers, Vendors and Internal Cross-Functional teams as required.
Ensuring projects are delivered on-time and within budget according to business requirements.
Coordination and analysis of mould development during product development phases.
Decision making on mould design and steel adjustments to meet tight tolerances.
Establish preventive maintenance and spare parts programmes
Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered to.
Ensuring compliance with all Quality, Regulatory, GMP requirements and adherence to all our client’s policies and relevant legislation.
Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:
4 years’ experience as tool fitter/ builder
2 years’ experience as a Tooling Engineer.
Total combined minimum years of experience required 6.
Required to undertake specific investigations, and tool monitoring, with the view to improve manufacturing performance e.g. reducing mould downtime and maximizing output and yield through technology enhancements.
It may be necessary to re-design moulds to adapt to process conditions in order to improve efficiency.
