2686 - Moulding Engineer
Team Horizon is seeking a Moulding Engineer for our client’s Medical Device site in Sligo.
What you will be doing:
To provide Moulding Engineering services to the plant, in order to maximise the availability of Moulding Equipment. To ensure continual compliance with the policies relating to Personnel, Quality, Engineering, Safety and Finance.
To control all relevant engineering budgets.
To develop the Engineering team with the emphasis on ensuring highest levels of product quality, continual operational improvements, and employee development.
To partner with quality to ensure product attributes and performance achieve all specifications.
To ensure the performance of day to day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing equipment.
To liaise with Production to ensure equipment performance is maximised.
To maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures and preventative/ demand maintenance.
To liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenance providers in maintaining trouble shooting, and installing/commissioning equipment.
Technical design making and project planning for new mould tools and processes.
Integration of new Injection Mould tooling and equipment in manufacturing processes.
Technical oversight on existing lines, investigation yields and quality trends.
Prepare appropriate CAPA plans and implement per timelines.
Leading projects against agreed project milestones.
Partnering with Marketing and Business Development, Customers, Suppliers, Vendors and Internal Cross-Functional teams as required.
Ensuring projects are delivered on-time and within budget according to business requirements.
Coordination and analysis of metrology measurements during product development phases.
Decision making on mould design and steel adjustments to meet tight tolerances.
Establish calibration, preventive maintenance and spare parts programmes.
Ensure compliance with calibration and maintenance requirements.
Ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered to.
Ensuring compliance with all Quality, Regulatory, GMP requirements and adherence to all our client’s policies and relevant legislation.
Participate in Risk Management activities as required.
Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:
A relevant technical qualification in engineering/science/moulding.
Degree Level preferable and or relevant experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of molding, extrusion and/or polymer processes and technologies.
Strong analytical problem solving skills; statistics knowledge/experience would be advantageous.
Previous project/process management, product technology transfer /NPI and validation experience is desirable.
Results driven with proven ability to prioritize work.
Proven ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Good working knowledge of quality systems would be helpful.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills is essential.
Working knowledge of AutoCad and/or Solidworks is a benefit.
