Team Horizon is seeking a Process Equipment Engineer to join our client’s pharmaceutical site in Sligo.
You will provide Engineering services to the plant, to maximize the availability of manufacturing, utilities, and facilities equipment and ensure the effective management of EHS at the facility.
You will manage engineering projects when required.
This role will support the engineering teams in controlling uptime of equipment and optimizing efficiencies both in equipment and process performance and support the engineering team with the emphasis on continual operational improvements.

What you will be doing:
To provide engineering support and technical trouble shooting to all site operations and reliability of equipment and processes by the successful identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
To manage the execution of projects within the engineering group including specific Process Safety Projects and support the provision of safety initiatives to the site.
To liaise with Production to ensure equipment performance is maximized. While also liaising with internal/external engineering personnel and contract maintenance providers in maintaining troubleshooting and installing/commissioning equipment.
To provide engineering support and technical trouble shooting to all site operations and reliability of equipment and processes by the successful identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
Leadership of commissioning and validation activities.
Identification and project management of continuous improvement projects. Work closely with all site functions and other departments to deliver these continuous improvement projects.
Preparation of feasibility studies and budget management for all assigned projects.
Assessing EHS impacts of new processes and products at the facility with a particular focus on process safety.
Support the preparation and implementation of the sites Industrial Hygiene Program (Containment verification).
Management and negotiation of external contracts and contractors.
Support all major site initiatives and sites core goals. Identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to drive the required departmental cost reductions.
Co-ordination between engineering and EHS group on current and new product introductions on process safety related issues and ensure safety standards are met and safe working practices adhered to.
What you need to apply:
A Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Engineering Discipline desirable.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in process engineering, with relevant experience of batch processing, automation, project management, commissioning and validation equipment reliability and continuous improvement.
Detailed Knowledge of cGMP and regulatory requirements relating to the Healthcare industry is required.
2 years’ experience of start-ups and/or new product introductions to pharmaceutical facilities preferred.
Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting the predefined quality requirements.
Requires proven problem-solving skills under the pressure. The position requires detailed evaluation of several viable solutions to each problem.
Requires innovative thinking, where new and untested solutions are proposed demonstrated and implemented on a regular basis.
