We are seeking applications for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our client who is a leading pharmaceutical company in Co Mayo.

What you will be doing:
Deliver ‘best in class’ performance through professional, competitive, and efficient buying processes, controls and systems
Effectively respond the procurement needs, by identifying the risks and opportunities
Continuously seek innovative solutions to improve the business units’ competitive edge.
Act as an interface between the various operations, project, and category personnel
Negotiate, prepare, and approve external agreements whilst ensuring the defined objectives of the Procurement department as well the customer contract requirements are met and implemented
Track and actively participate in all stages of Value Improvement Projects (VIP’s) to final stages
Drive Value Improvement initiatives
Ensure contracts are in place and negotiations are scheduled at optimal times in-order to continue to drive cost savings.
Work with systems data on actual purchases to develop tactical plans to capture value as well as align with partner strategies and apply local / regions supply agreements.

Utilise available e-Sourcing tools.
Challenge inefficiencies, process deviations and strategy deviations
Focus on delivery and sustainable competitive advantage for the Business Partner
Persuade others through effective communication skills – both oral and written
What you need to apply:
A solid background in purchasing, ideally in a highly regulated manufacturing environment
Experience with direct procurement of raw materials
Strong negotiation skills
Strong technical skills
Be able to demonstrate pricing and cost analysis skills
Proven track record in sourcing and productivity improvement and incorporate project management
The ability to prepare annual budgetary information and data
Strong communication skills including working with multicultural and multifunctional departments.
Perform Supplier contract reviews and supplier mapping
Perform tendering processes and implementation of new contracts
Review supplier agreements
Be able to offer solutions and act with speed and courage
Chemistry degree advantageous
Green Belt qualifications an advantage
