Controls & Automation Engineer – Team Horizon
We are seeking applications for an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer to join our client who is a leading pharmaceutical company in Co Mayo.

What you will be doing:
To work in a safe manner and in compliance with all Health, Safety & Environment mandatory policies, standards and procedures.
Have a good Knowledge of industrial automation technology and standards.
Troubleshoot issues that arise within the manufacturing process, driving to root cause
Demonstrable fault-finding skills
Lead and execute key plant projects ensuring timelines are met and deliverables achieved.
Project liaison sharing technical knowledge/experience.
Work closely with Engineering taking responsibility for defined elements of engineering projects.
Ability to write User Requirement Specifications and execute Design / Installation / Operational / Performance Qualification activities as part of project execution.
Ability to perform risk management and translate the results into action and implementation plans to then execute.
Identify, develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
Support and adhere to personnel policies and procedures.
Plan and prioritise their work load to ensure that agreed deadlines are met.
Provide periodic updates to the Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering and other relevant personnel.
Lead change control activities and process within cross functional departments
Internal Contacts – Work with production managers, supervisors, engineers and production staff.
External Contacts – Liaise with suppliers and vendors inputting to the validation of projects being handled.
What you need to apply:
Qualification in Engineering, Science or equivalent discipline, with particular emphasis in electrical, mechanical, electronic or automation disciplines.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in industry, preferably in a healthcare, pharmaceutical, or GMP manufacturing environment
Must have strong mathematical and data analysis skills.
Experienced in Allen Bradley and Siemens Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) would be an advantage.
Experience in Project management.
Experience of working in a regulated environment, with a working knowledge of validation requirements would be desirable.
Experience of commissioning and maintenance of complex plant and equipment
Able to read and understand engineering drawings
IT literate (MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel)
