Description
We are seeking applications for an experienced Procurement Manager to join our clients pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Mayo. This is a hybrid working role with the option to work remotely 2 days per week. 

As Procurement Manager you will be responsible for 3 Manufacturing sites (in Ireland and the UK) and procurement which includes both direct and indirect materials used for the production, packing and global distribution of 'life saving' solutions and medication delivery.

You will be able to deliver annual targeted cost savings with your strong negotiation skills whilst ensuring continuity of supply. You will be responsible for VIP's outcomes by identifying alternative sourcing strategies, materials and contract negotiations across all suppliers.

What you will be doing:



  • Manage month-end close in partnership with Shared Service Centre and Manufacturing A2R Teams and publish accurate financial reports on timely manner.


  • Actively manage the buying process for raw materials and packaging in line with specified cost reduction targets, quality and delivery goals.


  • Provide technical / commercial assistance to Commodity Buyers to develop awareness of manufacturing processes and improve product knowledge.


  • Apply sourcing policy, whilst interfacing between suppliers and entities with respect to specifications and budgets.


  • Balance both tactical executions with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects.


  • Actively participate in Supplier performance reviews.


  • Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials, communicate any supply problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations.


  • Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.


  • Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs where possible.


  • Negotiate contracts, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.


  • Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.


  • Ensure a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships.


  • Supplier Notification of Change management in close cooperation with QA and SC.


  • Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.


  • Explore alternate sources for goods and materials.


  • Assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers.


 

 

What you need to apply:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance – CPA / CMA / and MBA preferred and a Professional qualification ACCA/CIMA


  • Experience in procurement, ideally in a regulated industry


  • Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) or similar


  • Project management experience would be preferable


  • Be able to demonstrate and evidence strong negotiation skills


  • The ability to make critical decisions when required


  • Financial experience of budgets, forecasting as well as pricing and cost analysis


  • Have an agile attitude and approach with an ability to change and influence when required


  • Proven track record in sourcing and productivity improvement role incorporating project management responsibilities


  • Ability to adapt to multicultural and multi-functional environment


  • Rigor, determination, objectives oriented
