Project Controls – Cost Engineer– Team Horizon

 

Are you qualified in a numerical focussed discipline with 5 years’ work experience? Our client is looking for a methodical thinker, someone who is organised and driven, with great analytical skills for a Dublin site-based role on a 12-month contract basis. You will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic team helping project managers with compliance to various policies and procedures within a client-facing environment. What you will be doing:



  • Setup up of project reconciliation tracking spreadsheets 


  • Raising requisitions, noting errors in coding and details provided


  • Reconciliation of spreadsheets to financial spends and PO reports


  • Managing invoices for all projects


  • Analysis of all engineering aged invoices from report and issuing analysed report for action


  • Checking invoices and allocating to projects coding


  • Manging vendors, including set up with procurement and maintain current details on SAP.


  • Cost reporting, creating monthly cost reports, reviewing with the project managers and presenting to the client  


  • Working with accounting to make sure cost analysis is accurate, assists with invoice preparation. Provides labour, margin and revenue forecasts


  • Collaborating with engineering in budget preparation, change management, estimating, progress measurement.


  • Producing monthly project capital cost reports


  • Prepares capital cost reports, liaises with contracts administrators, project managers, engineers and planners


  • Running project change management process, preparing variation notes and change orders, maintaining project control and cost trend.


  • Production of monthly KPIs and maintenance of project controls process.


  • Takes part in client reviews, presents cost report, analysis and forecast.


  • Generate department managed service KPIs on a monthly basis for document approval, training completion) and PO spends.


  • Helps planners and contracts administrators evaluate progress and preparation of cost reports.


  • Assembling of project control weekly reports for engineering groups.


  • Helps administer on boarding/off boarding of team members


  • Taking part in reviews and presentation to management and client.


  • Creates operations backlog reports.


 

What you need to apply:



  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, construction economics or numerical-based relevant degree.


  • 5 years+ experience working in a project environment, ideally engineering and cost control.


  • Experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry is desirable.


  • Experience in cost engineering, estimating, contract administration and closure of final accounts


  • Excellent MS Office skills, Adobe PDF, database systems and accounting software


  • Understanding of Oracle & SAP


  • Brilliant numerical skills, accuracy and attention to detail. 


  • Process driven with a focus on compliance and ability to pick up errors.


  • Understanding of capital cost estimating


  • Knowledge of accounting practices


  • Great logical and analytical skills


  • Organised, disciplined and driven.


  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills


  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision.


  • Team player
