Moulding Engineer – Team Horizon

 

Team Horizon currently has an exciting opening for a Moulding Engineer to work on our client’s manufacturing facility in Sligo. In this role you will lead and support new injection moulding tool introduction in line with all safety, regulatory and organizational requirements. Responsibilities include input to tool de-sign, machine readiness and subsequent tool and EOAT validation.

 

What you will bedoing:



  • You will lead and support new injection moulding tool introduction in line with all safety, regulatory and organizational requirements. Responsibilities include input to tool design, machine readiness and subsequent tool and EOAT validation.


  • New technology introduction including input towards design, procurement, installation and validation activities including validation documentation compilation, execution and reporting.


  • Process validation.


  • Troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues on site within Moulding, and Tooling.


  • Process improvement initiatives on existing processes to further improve performance metrics including yield, downtime and prevention of problems recurring.


  • New manufacturing technologies review and recommendations for implementation where benefits to site are identified.


  • Project Management of new equipment introduction working with the necessary cross departmental functions and associated vendors to ensure all tasks are completed per schedule.


  • Updating the Maintenance and Calibration systems and ensuring compliance.


  • To compile new and update existing departmental procedures as required to ensure all procedures are accurate and relevant.


  • Partner with Operations to ensure daily production is met addressing major contributors to down time.


  • Fabrication of ad hoc mechanical and electrical parts to ensure efficient repairs, upgrades, maintenance.


  • Moulding SME for Polymeric material compositions and to address all material issues through identification of relevant test methods and standards, sourcing of all testing and understanding and presentation in an executive summary format of all test results received.


  • Moulding SME for hosting contactors on site and to facilitate this activity as and where required. This includes ensuring all contractors have the necessary training, certification and documentation including approved permits and method statements to come on site prior to project start to avoid delays.


  • To lead, coordinate, drive and validate machine software packages/updates to further improve machine performance and monitoring capabilities. This applies to all equipment including IMM’s, Robots, Ancillaries and Material Feed System.


  • Providing cross functional support to operational and strategic projects in the areas of project management, working with vendors in specifying of equipment and its associated software packages , installation and validation to better place the client’s BT to deliver CI’s and deliver new business opportunities in compliance with Industry 4.0.


 

What you need to apply:



  • Degree level qualification in engineering, science or relevant technical discipline.


  • Knowledge of cleanroom manufacturing requirements and associated health & safety requirements including a knowledge of CE marking requirements.


  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environment.


  • Demonstrated project management skills including the ability to deliver projects on schedule within budget and meeting predefined quality requirements.


  • Proven problem-solving ability on moulding equipment and related ancillary equipment with a strong demonstrated knowledge on tool design.


  • Prior processing knowledge of commodity and engineering thermoplastics.


  • Experience in introduction and validation of moulds and moulding ancillary equipment including robots, tote handling systems, robots, dryers, and material handling equipment.


  • Medical device experience with proven ability to compile, execute and report right first-time validation reports.


  • Statistical analysis capability is desirable
