Project Manager Packaging – Team Horizon

 

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Project Manager (Packaging). In this role you will be responsible for delivering Packaging Projects in a Pharmaceutical Oral Solid Dose Facility. These shall include design, procurement, installation, commissioning & qualification of high-volume packaging lines, including Serialisation & Aggregation, within a GMP environment, Manage Vendors & Contractors in partnership with all stakeholders in an integrated approach to achieve overall project success.

 

The successful candidate will report directly to the Programme Project Manager on all aspects of the role including but not limited to; introduction of new projects, troubleshooting issues, equipment upgrades and procurement in the manufacturing/packaging and validation activities. This is a projects-based role. The successful candidate must have strong leadership and planning qualities, be adaptable to change and be comfortable leading cross functional teams delivering to strict deadlines. Pharmaceutical process knowledge and equipment procurement and validation experience is required.

 

What you will be doing:



  • Project management and co-ordination including planning, scheduling, task management and delegation, milestone planning, communication and reporting.


  • Strong focus on safety through daily work permits & task specific permits, SPA’s & safety conversations


  • Develop & manage scope, schedule and budget to deliver projects safely and on time in accordance with site SOPs.


  • Manage Projects within a GMP environment that includes: Change Controls, Project Lifecycle Documentation (URS, FDS, SDS, HDS, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ - PDOCS), Trial Batches, Risk Assessments (PPRA, ORR, PRA & EHS Checklist), Artwork and Keyline changes


  • Evaluate component functionality, equipment compatibility and performance on-line, including the coordination of technical trials and proof of concept activities


  • Implement creative solutions to resolve space constraints through developing line layout options


  • Leverage strong personal working relationships to achieve successful stakeholder management in a challenging environment


  • Provide clear direction on priorities and decisions through a comprehensive communication strategy, including daily and weekly work planning meetings and weekly management updates


  • Co-ordinate technicians and operators to support the line setup, operation and troubleshooting.


  • Leading cross functional teams as part of project planning and deployment including collaboration with supporting departments such as Production/Operations, Quality, Safety, Facilities and Engineering, Supply Chain and Finance, Project scoping and gap analysis.


  • Equipment specification/design/procurement/installation and support of validation activities.


  • To ensure that all new equipment is bought in accordance with appropriate site procedures & regulations.




What you need to apply:



  • B.Eng in a relevant Engineering or appropriate science or engineering discipline.


  • A minimum of 5+ years’ recent relevant experience in a packaging engineering/projects role in the Pharma/Biotech/Chemical industry.


  • Good knowledge & understanding and experience of packaging.


  • The ability to organise, plan and execute multiple tasks to tight schedules


  • Experience with leading cross functional teams is desirable.


  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities is required.


  • Proven track record of project-based activities in the pharmaceutical industry.


  • Good communication skills combined with an imaginative and creative approach to problem solving.


  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in cross-functional team environments, as well as independently.
