- EHS Specialist – Team Horizon
We currently have an exciting opening for a EHS Specialist to work on our client’s manufacturing facility in Cork. You will be reporting to the EHS Manager and you will manage the day to day operations of the EHS Department and ensure that specific Site and EHS Projects are delivered in accordance with Site EHS Systems, Standards and all of the relevant Legislative and Corporate requirements.

What you will bedoing:
You will lead and support existing site EHS programmes e.g. process safety, contractor management, ergonomics, chemical management)
Participate in ISO 14001 / 45001 Internal & External audit. Participate in Corporate EHS and Process Safety Audits and closing out non-conformances.
Ensure that adequate evacuation and response arrangements are in place for fire/emergency situations.
Initiate and conduct cross functional accident/incident investigations.
Coordinate and conduct risk assessments and Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSRs).
Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs).
Monitor and review EHS corrective actions to ensure timely and effective closure.
Assess the EHS impact of proposed changes to plant, process, equipment. Identify actions to ensure compliance and risk control.
Ensure adherence to the site contractor management program. Including but not limited to Contractor pre-qualification reviews, permit walkdowns and contractor audits.
Carry out EHS Inductions for new hires.
Analysis of EHS site data to determine and identify trends.
Support, develop, maintain and review safety programmes to ensure that they meet legislative, corporate and industry requirements.
Provide support to ensure the company’s accreditation to ISO 45001.
Lead and promote a continuous improvement and zero accidents culture on site.
What you need to apply:
Relevant third level degree in Occupational Health and Safety essential
Process safety qualification, Manual handling Instructor and Train the trainer qualification all desirable.
Strong EHS experience is essential in this role.
Knowledge and experience working in a GMP regulated environment preferred.
Experience with HAZOP & Risk Assessment
Previous contractor management experience
Solid understanding of EHS legislation & ISO 45001
Ability to review and update technical documentation and provide GAP analysis
