Team Horizon is seeking a Equipment Maintenance Technician for a leading pharmaceutical company in North Dublin.
The Maintenance Technician performs functions related to supporting the manufacture of drug products, such as setting-up, cleaning, and maintaining equipment and facilities.
The role assists in troubleshooting equipment issues and observes established escalation paths to ensure issues are appropriately addressed and resolved so production targets can be met.
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of job duties in a team environment. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
2 cycle shift @ 20%; rotating weeks of days (06:30 – 14:30) and evenings (14:20 – 23:00) (Fridays: 14:20 – 19:30).
1 week of nights every 6 weeks @ 33%; 22:30 – 07:30 (Fridays: 19:30 - 03:30) which would coincide with a week that they are supposed to be on evenings.

What you will be doing:
- Support and adhere to established maintenance schedules.
- Maintain production and facility equipment in strict accordance with maintenance instructions, SOPs, and cGMPs.
- Complete all required data entries with detail and accuracy in real time.
- Observe established escalation process for issues impacting established production-related Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and/or fulfillment of production goals.
- Recognize and report to immediate supervisor any process or equipment anomalies and/or deviations from accepted standards.
- Provide status updates on maintenance activities and operational challenges according to defined procedures.
- Execute machine changeovers between batches according to established SOPs and SLAs.
- Keep work area neat and orderly and observe all safety and compliance procedures.
- Seek process innovation and continuous process improvement in production area.
- Complete and conform to all training requirements for job role, including company-required and role-specific training.
- Carry out and assist in the ongoing training of new and existing personnel, as appropriate.
- Observe all safety and compliance procedures and actively highlight any safety concerns to help drive the reduction of accidents or near misses.
- May participate in department initiatives and projects.
- Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:
- Minimum of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation craft qualification – preferably in the Pharmaceutical industry.
- Preferably 5 years GMP/pharmaceutical maintenance work experience.
- Basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
- Maximo and Track Wise knowledge desirable.
- Equipment: related to Oral Solid Dose (capsules/tablets) - blenders, granulators, tablet capsulation equipment, presses.
- Minimum of mechanical or electrical craft qualification
- Strong Mechanical and electrical faultfinding skills. 90% of work will be mechanical but they would need a good understanding of electrical for the night shift.
- At least 3 years experience in Pharma manufacturing environment (Oral Solid Dose) or similar (med device/food)
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, technical manuals, electrical wiring schematics, layout drawings and P&ID’s.
Previous experience using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
