Project Lead - Digital Transformation


 


Team Horizon is seeking a Project Lead - Digital Transformation for a client in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a Remote role with ad hoc travel to sites across Ireland, Italy and Germany. This person will manage project execution and support the site Digital Leads and customers.

What you will be doing:



  •  Build detailed project plans for each site, including milestones, resources, and Ignition setups.

  • Work with site PMs to customize plans, factoring in local needs and challenges.Follow up on tasks daily/ weekly using tools like MS Teams or Ignition reports to stay on schedules.

  • Send weekly updates to the global team with progress, risks, and integration metrics.

  • Manage scope changes formally, checking impacts on timelines and system integrity.

  • Flag and escalate issues (technical or integration-related) quickly for resolution.

  • Track and coordinate support from the global team, like expertise or funding.

  • Develop and document standards for shop floor integration, ensuring consistency across sites via Ignition.

  • Gather key requirements from sites through consultations, workshops, or surveys to inform plans and standards.

  • Advance the work forward overall, staying grounded in site realities to drive practical implementation and problem-solving.

  • Expected travel up to 50% to EU and other sites globally.


 


What you need to apply:



  • 5+ years’ experience in project engineering or management, ideally with automation project management in pharma industry

  • Excellent communication and influence skills

  • Experience with managing large scale global and site wide initiatives for SAP, ERP, MES digital transformations

  • Hands-on experience with SCADA/MES systems, preferably Ignition by Inductive Automation.

  • Strong planning and coordination skills
