Team Horizon is seeking a Global Trade Compliance Senior Analyst for a leading pharmaceutical company.
The Senior Analyst, GTC – Ireland role, is an important GTC team member which is highly visible and a strategic position that actively partners with all Manufacturing sites in Ireland to support the enterprise across R&D, Operations and Global stakeholders.
They are responsible for actively collaborating with cross-functional teams, optimizing trade compliance operations, enhancing decision-making, and mitigating risks. Their contributions are instrumental in shaping the future of our trade compliance function and supporting the mission to improve the lives of individuals worldwide.

What you will be doing:
- Work directly with the manufacturing sites and our Business Process Operations (external partner) in Ireland to help ensure that all import/export transactions are in compliance with EU Customs Law through deployment/integration of internal controls.
- Perform importing/exporting operational activities and resolve day-to-day issues that may result in border delays including acting as a back-up to individuals, as needed
- Monitor IE self-filing electronic process and technical challenges. Work with BTS for quick resolutions.
- Engage with customs broker and support management of the relationship/performance in IE.
- Apply advanced knowledge of regulations and requirements to support our Irish business requirements.
- Monitor import/export/duty management projects and Special Trade Programs that focus on driving efficiencies or cost savings for the company (e.g. Inward Processing). This includes performing detailed analysis of trade processes to eliminate non-value add activities and quantifying the impact
- Monitor and align with relevant GTC partners on trade compliance regulatory and legislative changes that may impact on our manufacturing operations and alert the appropriate parties internally on the impact on the business
- Assist in the development of solutions to issues faced by the business and any necessary management required.
- Update local Procedures and Work Instructions as required and provide training.
- Execute and support the capturing and analyzing of metrics associated with trade operations.
- Assist in driving the compliance monitoring of the sites to the Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) and other relevant trade security programs.
- Deploy the GTC Operating model, mandated policies and procedures, self-audit program and training to ensure continued compliance with customs law with all stakeholders.
What you need to apply:
- Proficient in English Diploma / University degree in a related field (e.g., international trade, supply chain, logistics, legal are preferred).
- 5-7+ years of experience working in a customs agent/broker’s agency, multinational company, consulting firm, pharmaceutical company or logistics service provider preferred.
- Knowledge of EU import/export regulations and activities, etc.
- Knowledge of Customs requirements for self-filing of import and export entries in Ireland and other countries.
- Knowledge and experience with European Customs and Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)
- Ability to work effectively under time/workload pressure.
- Experience with global trade software platforms (e.g. SAP Global Trade Services module).
- Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills with ability to multitask.
- Strong interpersonal skills: enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and has the ability to train and lead others.
- Can drive continuous process improvements.
