- Our client, an international engineering company has an exciting new contract opportunity for a Senior Buyer with an immediate start in Dublin or Cork. This role reports into the Procurement Manager and is initially a 12-month contract.

What you will be doing:
Buying materials and equipment at the lowest costs, at the right time and delivering on time.
Managing personnel, ensuring adherence to applicable procedures, schedules, and man-hour and cost budgets.
Complying with code of business conduct and ethics, corporate policies, procedures and work practices.
Coordinates with stakeholders
Inputting all progress data to material management system and ensure these are up-to-date
Developing relationship with suppliers, and making recommendations to the PM regarding necessary visits to Suppliers to maintain or improve performance.
Maintain awareness of the materials supply situation including area sources, price levels and current deliveries.
Advising the Project Procurement Manager and/or Manager of Procurement of possible new sources of supply.
Contributing to current and projected price and delivery trends
Carrying out spare parts co-ordination activities in accordance with the Project Procurement Execution Plan.
Attending monthly cross project Procurement meetings.
Making sure the correct finalisation of orders is in accordance with project procurement execution plan.
Helping in the settlement of back charges and discrepancies when requested by authorised construction personnel or Project Manager.
Risk management.
Creating clear and concise quotation evaluation reports for approval.
Analyses many sources of information to identify trends, issues and risks to the project. Effectively communicates findings to management.
What you need to apply:
Technical Expertise
Strong knowledge of purchasing and expediting techniques and how they are applied.
Proactive mindset, seeking to learn more about the engineering, manufacturing process and product knowledge.
Commercial awareness
Excellent understanding of the commercial imperatives for purchase orders.
Be an analytical thinker
Ability to produce clear and concise project procurement plans.
Reporting Skills
Knowledge of Tools and Procedures
Organisation and Industry Awareness
