Team Horizon is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineer for our client in Kildare on an initial 12-month contract.

What you will be doing:- Monitoring and controlling equipment on site.
- Ensures that all equipment is in a safe state and maintenance is carried out as safely as possible.
- Modelling the controls system and track changes; Troubleshooting the controls system problems, Systematic problem solving, delivering operational efficiency, maintenance, testing and commissioning solutions; driving capital budgets for system upgrades; providing technical leadership to IFM and contractors.
- Provide projects and sustaining controls engineering support at our facilities. Act as a System Owner of the sites PLC controls system.
- Work Closely with the Sustaining Facilities controls Engineers. Understand and model the operational excellence of the team.
- Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Instrument/Controls Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university with an emphasis on power/utility systems is required.
- 5+ years’ experience with Allen Bradley Control Logix hardware.
- Strong experience with SCADA and PLC controls system.
- Ability to act as a system owner of the site’s PLC system.
- Ability to work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a larger team.
- Must have excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrate the application of structured problem-solving methods and tools.
- Excellent Knowledge of computer software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Projects is required.
