Instrumentation & Controls Engineer – Team Horizon

What you will be doing:



  • Leading area/system plant design actions working with multi-discipline designers.


  • Designing work in 2D/3D integrated design systems.


  • Taking part in design reviews, risk assessments and vendor bid evaluations.


  • Helping with the creation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets for projects.


  • Developing effort-hour estimates.


  • Sizing and specifying instruments and producing datasheets


  • Developing control system architecture


  • Panel design for control systems


  • Developing standard installation details.


  • Updating P&IDs with controls content.


  • Creating control system methods with insights from other disciplines as required.


  • Making instrument lists and cable schedules


  • Reviewing submittals


  • Carrying out site surveys and design verification


 

What you need to apply:



  • Chartered Engineer qualification or in progress


  • Strong engineering or design experience in industrial or advanced technology sector


  • Semiconductor experience in large scale industrial, skill sets: chemical delivery systems, valve selection, sizing, AB (Rockwell) automation platforms


  • Engineering/ design experience in the I&C systems


  • Experience with MCC and VFD control requirements


  • Some experience with PLC code/SCADA preferred but not essential


  • Working knowledge of wiring regulations and ATEX requirements


  • Microsoft Office suite skills, particularly with Excel


  • Great communication and interpersonal skills


  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with multiple deadlines


  • Relationship building skills with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors.


  • Brilliant English both written and spoken
