- Team Horizon is seeking a Project Manager (Sustainability) on an initial 12-month contract, for our client who are a global leader in the biopharmaceutical industry. As a Project Manager for Sustainability Projects, you will play a critical role in driving sustainability initiatives and managing projects aimed eliminating the Carbon released from the site. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, installation, and commissioning and of sustainability projects to ensure they align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, engaging stakeholders, and implementing sustainable practices across various aspects of the pharmaceutical value chain.

What you will be doing:
Project Planning and Execution:
Develop project plans, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with relevant
stakeholders.
Coordinate and lead project teams, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and adherence
to project timelines.
Identify and allocate necessary resources, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to support
project implementation.
Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or obstacles, and implement appropriate mitigation
strategies.
Sustainability Strategy and Implementation:
Work with senior management and sustainability teams to define and refine sustainability goals and
targets for the organization.
Identify opportunities for integrating sustainable practices into biopharmaceutical operations,
including areas such as energy efficiency, waste management, water conservation, and supply chain
sustainability.
Develop and implement initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of biopharmaceutical
processes and promote social responsibility within the industry.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and certifications
related to sustainability.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and
regulatory affairs, to integrate sustainability considerations into their respective functions.
Engage with external stakeholders, such as suppliers, customers, industry associations, and regulatory
bodies, to foster partnerships and promote sustainable practices.
Act as a liaison between different departments, fostering cross-functional collaboration and ensuring
alignment with sustainability objectives.
Reporting and Performance Monitoring:
Establish metrics and indicators to track sustainability performance and progress towards goals.
Prepare regular reports on sustainability initiatives, including key performance indicators, milestones
achieved, and areas for improvement.
Conduct periodic audits or assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability projects and
recommend adjustments as needed.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in sustainability within the
pharmaceutical industry.
Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement, such as the adoption of new technologies,
processes, or materials that align with sustainability goals.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to implement innovative solutions and drive
continuous improvement in sustainability practices.
Managing Trade Contractors:
Manage multidiscipline trade contractors in a construction environment.
Track variations.
Manage the project programme (Microsoft Project).
Must have an understanding of EHS obligations – DRA/PSDP/PSCS/AF1/AF2/PHSP & CSSP.
Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:
Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or biopharmaceutical sciences.
Proven experience in project management, preferably within the biopharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
In-depth knowledge of sustainability concepts, practices, and regulations, particularly within the pharmaceutical sector.
Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain and its environmental and social impacts.
Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders.
Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Familiarity with sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, ISO 14001, ISO 50001) and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP) is advantageous.
Project management certifications (e.g., PMP) are desirable.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
