- Team Horizon is seeking a Digital Technology Specialist (BTS) for a global biopharmaceutical site in Mayo. Reporting to the Site BTS Lead/Associate Director, you will be responsible for championing the Site Technology Agenda by implementing digital technology solutions that meet the business needs and align with the corporate IT strategy.
As Digital Technology Specialist, you will provide end-to-end technical guidance and business process alignment through delivering and maintaining Business Technology Solutions and systems. In partnership with the Site BTS Lead, you will create and maintain the site technology roadmap, advocating for and enabling a unified approach to shop-floor management, proposes, plans (capital plan and long-range plan) and executing projects that deliver innovation and digital enablement of the sites Internal Manufacturing and Engineering (IME) business imperatives.

What you will be doing:
Lead digital technology solution development and implementation across the site's manufacturing operations areas, promoting the digital technology agenda and infusing digital as a guiding design principle.
Work closely with manufacturing process engineering and automation to input digital solutions in system/process design discussions.
Build and lead the Site’s Technology Roadmap and governance process to effectively drive technology advancements across the site.
Assess and benchmark digitalisation and Factory of the Future capabilities for the site, develop and communicate strategy and roadmap in close alignment with SLT, IME network leadership and BTS capabilities.
Liaise with Manufacturing, Quality, and Operation Excellence stakeholders to develop an inventory of digital opportunities.
Promote, expand and improve data access and utilisation for consumption and analysis on the BTS site team and the business side.
Ensure delivery of robust, sustainable digitalisation solutions that meet site, region and network priorities.
Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of IT solutions for the site, providing high availability and managing technology lifecycles.
Keep informed of enabling technologies and build awareness of IT industry trends, including Industry 4.0 and IoT.
Advise BTS colleagues and IME business customers on suitable digital investments.
Champion digital solution implementation and projects that drive Digital Manufacturing by integrating machines, systems and data.
Participate in NPI (New Product Introduction) projects from initiation to ensure digital by design is a guiding principle for process design.
Participate in continuous improvement programs to improve the quality, safety, environmental and production systems.
Provide expert guidance on new technologies and emerging trends, understand current system design and partner with key stakeholders and site leadership to deliver ‘future proof’ ideas and solutions to ensure ongoing effective delivery of operations and continuous improvement.
Responsible for the budget of BTS site operations, systems operations, licenses, services and local BTS projects as delegated by the Site BTS lead.
Any other dutes as assigned.
What you need to apply:
Relevant IT, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electronics, or similar degree. 6+ years of relevant industry experience. Exposure to FDA, GMP, ISA95, safety and environmental legislation.
Experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry preferred.
4+ years of project management experience – a proven record of cross-functional project delivery.
Systems background: ERP/SAP, MES (POMSNet), Data Historian (OSI PI), Chromatography (Empower) and laboratory management systems.
SCADA/DCS is a plus. Strong knowledge of Quality Assurance, IT System Life Cycle, Compliance and Data Integrity.
Strong Business Consultancy capabilities to drive business process engineering and innovation.
Ability to understand various technologies and effectively master application architecture, design, and integration complexities.
Proven ability to make clear and courageous decisions that influence leadership and key stakeholders at site, regional and global levels.
Experience with process improvement methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) will be of added value.
