- Team Horizon is seeking a EHS Engineer for our client who are a global biopharmaceutical company based in Sligo. Reporting to the site EHS Manager, you will provide the resources necessary to ensure the effective management of EHS& E at the facility. You will also be responsible for guaranteeing that the programs and management procedures are in place to ensure that operations at the facility are conducted in such a fashion as to prevent injury or harm to the employees or to the environment.

Our client is developing the capability to produce all its medicines, helping to ensure continuity of supply of our medicines as they expand internationally.
What you will be doing:
Preparation and submission of regulatory reports for the EPA, HSA etc.
Auditing to ensure compliance with the IPPC licence, Safety standards and with the
corporate management and technical standards.
Preparation and implementation of the sites Industrial Hygiene Program (Containment verification).
Risk Assessments of the facilities operations.
Development of site safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Ongoing development of the site’s EHS training programme.
Assessing EHS impacts of new processes and products at the facility.
Assistance in management of the facilities IPPC’s licence requirements, where required.
Any other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:
3rd level degree in Engineering, Science, Health & Safety, Environmental Science or similiar (if primary degree is in Engineering/Science, then additional EHS focused qualification is preferred).
2-5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally in pharmaceutical / medical device industry.
Detailed knowledge of legislation, policies, strategies, and systems needed to implement and maintain a regulated.
Environmental Health and Safety organization.
Good leadership skills in identifying and correcting.
EHS issues through effective communication and strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining close attention to detail.
