- Team Horizon is seeking a Validation Electrical Test Technician to join our client’s state of the art automotive vision systems manufacturing facility in the West of Ireland.
The Validation Electrical Test Technician will be responsible for providing complete test solutions for the Electrical testing supporting NPI, Warranty, Product improvements and Failure modes analysis testing activity.
The Electrical Test Engineer will also be responsible for planning and reporting on electrical testing for all project teams.

What you will be doing:
Test Planning and Reporting
Develop customer specific Electrical test plans.
Liaise with R&D project team members to define test cases.
Execution of test suites
Provide detailed reports to the project teams on completed tests.
Provide clear and concise analysis of failure modes to project teams.
Test Case Solutions o Schematics and block diagrams for test solutions o Developing the electronic hardware and software platforms for function test solutions. o Support projects by recommending proven Electrical design solutions o Operate computer-assisted software applications and equipment to perform test tasks.
Test Support o Develop in house electrical test capability.
Build database of electrical test profiles based on lessons learned.
Develop internal electrical test standards to be applied across all projects.
Support external test houses in the set-up of systems prior to testing.
Provide work instructions to test houses to enable efficient transfer of test equipment.
Support Project team with analysis of Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Report validation status to the project team and management on a regular basis.
Contribute to the improvements of the laboratory’s tools such as: instruction sheet, development and validation.
And any additional duties.
What you need to apply:
Technician in Electronics or similar.
Engineering degree (Electronic & Electrical Engineering) a bonus.
Data recording – excel, graph plotting, tabulating, coherent results.
Innovative ideas on how to re-create possible ‘fail’ states (e.g. ignition / start-up are crucial periods for electrical equipment in car and components must be robust to cranking profiles)
Key understanding of equipment with knowledge of bench electrical testing:
Oscilloscopes – competent at triggering, measuring start-up times etc.
Multimeters/Current probes.
Test racks – GPIB, multiple interfaces etc
Any background knowledge on automotive systems
Basic knowledge of CAN / LIN and other automotive interface (DTCs).
Soldering, reworking, schematic / layout / datasheet reading – leading to figuring out which signals to probe (Reset, clocks, interfacing signals between ICs etc).
Basic understanding of system testing and validation.
Basic understanding of a vehicle communication networks CAN, LIN and Flexray.
