Team Horizon is seeking a Resident Civil Engineer for a leading engineering company with a project in North Dublin. Resident Engineer Role for the construction of new bus maintenance depot in North Dublin

What you will be doing:
Resident Engineer role to supervise construction of the proposed development will consist primarily of the following, including associated infrastructure.
Parking for 178 No. buses, 54 No. cars and provision for motorcycles and bicycle shelters.
A single-story administration building and associated facilities.
A single-story light maintenance and servicing building with associated facilities.
On-site fuel and water storage tanks.
The RE would need to cover all elements of the works, which include general civils, highways, MEICA and the commissioning of the depot. It is expected they are familiar with these types of works and can demonstrate carrying out a similar role in the past.
The RE would need to agree change with the Contractor and ensure works are delivered to the specifications provided.
Supervise and audit the site construction to ensure the works are constructed in accordance with the design and contract requirements.
Supervise and organise the work load of a number of engineers, technicians and inspectors.
Resolve technical issues as they arise on site.
Prepare, review and authorise site design changes resulting from contractor change requests or problems encountered on site.
Review and authorise the Contractor’s Inspection and Test Plans.
Audit the Contractor’s quality records.
Liaise with the Contractor, Client and TS representatives on technical and contractual issues.
Respond to the Contractor’s site queries.
Attend meetings with the Contractor, Client and TS representatives.
Monitor and report on site safety issues.
Issue responses to safety audits.
Provide feedback to the Design Office.
What you need to apply:
Educated to degree level (level 8/9 engineering degree).
Minimum 5 years’ postgraduate experience, primarily in a consultancy environment.
Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programmes.
Experience in administering contracts using the Public Works form of contracts an advantage.
Report to the Project Manager and Technical Director.
Experience in supervising repairs to expansion joints, pavements, parapets, safety barriers as well as masonry and concrete works.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Experience in record keeping and reporting on Contractor’s progress.
Ability to work within a team environment and under own initiative to achieve project goals.
Knowledge of current H&S regulations and best practices.
Full driving licence and a valid SafePass.
