22 Feb Engineers’ Den – A competition to promote engineering in Mayo Schools
Engineers’ Den Competition Officially Launched
Team Horizon recognises the importance of STEM at primary and secondary level and wants to support and innovate in partnership with local schools at grass-roots level.
The Engineers Den competition, in association with Engineers Ireland and the STEPS programme, is a competition aimed exclusively at Mayo primary and secondary schools. There will be prizes for primary, secondary junior and secondary senior submissions, and prizes will include engineering equipment for schools.
Applications will be submitted and reviewed by the Team Horizon senior engineering team. Three applicants from each category will be short-listed to compete in the final.
The winning entry should demonstrate a passion for engineering, proven teamwork, application in real life and have commercial potential.
Teams of up to ten can enter the competition by sending in a project brief and images of their engineering project. Full details of the competition and criteria will be unveiled at the official launch, which is taking place in Westport at The Plaza Hotel on Wednesday 2 March at 5pm.
