Engineers’ Den People’s Choice Award Opens. Get voting now!

Since the launch of the Engineers’ Den competition for national and secondary schools in Mayo on 2nd March, interest from teachers and schools across the County has exceeded expectations.

Registration for the event has now officially closed, and the polls are now open for the People’s Choice Award. The People’s Choice Award is based on an online poll that allows the public to vote for their school(s) and the schools to promote their entry by engaging in a proactive online campaign. This is a great opportunity for schools to highlight their dedication, innovation and investment in STEM. The winner with the most public votes will win “The People’s Choice” trophy and a special prize, which will be awarded at the final.

We received a number of expressions of interest on the night of the launch and several registrations the following day. We even received one registration during the school holidays and another first thing on Monday morning as the schools reopened after the long easter break. It shows there is strong interest in engineering and STEM across Mayo, at national and secondary school level, and we are delighted to support schools and students to explore their interest further through this competition.
